Why participate in the work exchange program?

Being involved enhances the festival experience and sense of community. For many folks, the festival wouldn’t be the same without helping out. It’s about making it all happen, and getting to know people. Obviously, you save money by helping out in exchange for your festival pass.

Can I delete or switch my shifts once I have sign up?

No. With our new system, once you are signed up you may not switch. So choose wisely, and double check it all before you sign up ☺

When do I receive my deposit back?

You will receive your deposit back within 10 days after the festival if you have fulfilled your contract.

What if I want to work in an area that requires a join code?

If you have worked with us in an area that needs a join code, email Lynne @ lynnethelen@gmail.com to get that code.

Why do we have to put down a deposit?

Guitarfish would not be able to be put on without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. But, we do have to have some assurance that all volunteers will show up to all of their shifts. As long as you show up on time, stay on task, and don’t break any rules, you will get your money back. All deposits will be refunded within 10 business days of the Guitarfish Music Festival.

Where will we check in when we get to Guitarfish?

Check in at the one and only Box Office Booth @ the Cisco Grove Campground. Please bring your ID and your name will be on the list.

What happens if I am relieved of my responsibilities by my supervisor because I am under the influence?

If any manager feels that a team member is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and can’t perform the assigned duties, the volunteer will be relieved of duties and forfeit the deposit. Absolutely no exceptions will be made or discussed. A team member may also be relieved of duties if the supervisor does not feel the team member has completed duties as requested, or completed their shift at their designated assignment. In this case, said team member will forfeit deposit.

Can I register to work in different areas (green team, gates, beer garden etc.) ?

All work needs to be completed in the same area.

When is the work exchange meeting? Do I need to come to the work exchange meeting?

The work exchange meeting is on Friday, July 28, at 9am in the music bowl. You need to plan on attending the meeting in order to receive training and information. If you do not attend meeting, you will be charged a $20 inconvenience fee.

Do you pay for camping?

Free tent camping in the main campground is included. If you plan on bringing a car, look at the website for further details.

Are there other opportunities to fulfill my work exchange hours?

Yes. If you’d like to help out before the festival, email us with PRE-FEST in the subject line, and we will send you info. If you’d like to help with Street Team / Promo work, email us with PROMO in the subject line. Emails go to: jtmusicfest@gmail.com

Why is there an application fee?

The money covers the credit card fees and bank charges on the deposits and refunds.

What is the age requirement?

You need to be 18 by the first day of the festival.

When can I arrive?

You can arrive and set up camp on Wednesday, July 26th, after 2pm.

How much time do I need to commit?

The basic commitment is 16 hours for a 4-day pass. This includes free tent camping (in the main campground). In exchange for 24 hours of work, you will receive a festival ticket, free tent camping and 6 catered meals.

What if I can no longer participate in the work exchange?

If you are unable to participate in the work exchange, email Lynne directly at: lynnethelen@gmail.com to delete your shifts and get your deposit refunded. A cancellation fee of $25 takes effect on June 15th. A cancellation fee of $50 takes effect on July 1st. Cancel after July 10th and you will forfeit your entire deposit.

What does it mean if I sign up for a Monday shift?

If you sign up for a Monday shift from 8am-12, you will be helping with the breakdown of the festival. You will need to meet near the hospitality bar area to sign in and get assignment.
